Today, a cylinder is an <strong>indispensable device<\/strong> in the hydraulic circuit. It is the <strong>link<\/strong> between the <strong>hydraulic circuit<\/strong> and the <strong>working machine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In <strong>contrast<\/strong> to <strong>rotary drives<\/strong> (hydraulic motors), the hydraulic cylinder performs <strong>translatory<\/strong> (straight-line) <strong>movements<\/strong>. In doing so, it <strong>transfers the<\/strong> <strong>forces<\/strong> to the <strong>working machine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Cylinders have a <strong>wide range<\/strong> of <strong>applications<\/strong> and can be found in a wide variety of machines and vehicles.<br \/>The <strong>maximum<\/strong> transmittable <strong>cylinder force<\/strong> &#8220;F&#8221; <strong>depends on<\/strong> the maximum permissible <strong>operating pressure &#8220;p&#8221;<\/strong> and the effective <strong>area &#8220;A&#8221;<\/strong>. By applying pressure via port &#8220;A&#8221; or &#8220;B&#8221;, the cylinder piston can transmit <strong>tensile or compressive forces in both stroke directions<\/strong>. This can mean that the <strong>unbraked stop of<\/strong> the piston in the end position leads to <strong>damage to the cylinder<\/strong> and the machine. <strong>Hydraulic cylinders with end-position cushioning<\/strong> are usually used for these applications. This <strong>damping<\/strong> is normally installed in <strong>both end positions<\/strong>, i.e. on both rod and piston sides. The illustration shows a cylinder with end-position cushioning on the piston side. These should have the following characteristics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Suitable<\/strong> for the <strong>hydraulic fluids<\/strong> used<\/li>\n<li><strong>High durability<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Designed for <strong>high<\/strong> <strong>travel speeds<\/strong> <\/li>\n<li><strong>Low friction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>frictional forces<\/strong> on the <strong>piston<\/strong> and <strong>piston rod<\/strong> are so high that a <strong>pressure of<\/strong> <strong>several<\/strong> bar is required to set the cylinder in motion.<\/p>\n<p>For cylinders with two piston rods (synchronous cylinders), the <strong>friction<\/strong> is <strong>higher<\/strong> than for a differential cylinder with one piston rod. <strong>Without load<\/strong>, a <strong>minimum pressure of 10 bar<\/strong> is recommended for hydraulic cylinders with one piston rod to ensure <strong>safe retraction and extension<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.19.5&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_6_font_size=&#8221;22px&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h6>Hydraulic cylinder manufacturer<\/h6>\n<p>There are very many manufacturers of hydraulic cylinders.
